The Jeonju Bibimbap Festival is Korea’s most popular food festival, aiming to promote Jeonju as the center of Korean cuisine and to develop the competitiveness of Bibimbap as an international food. Various exhibitions and events introduce Bibimbap to visitors while a cooking contest, the Hanok Village Kimchi Banquet and many other events offer tasty treats.

The festival consists of fun programs: Mat (Delicious) Bibim, Heung (Fun) Bibim offering cultural performances as well as a food contest, Meot (Elegant) Bibim letting visitors experience food in Hanok (traditional house) Village, and other programs including a tour program to attractions in Hanok Village. Held in Jeonju, the festival offers the best of Bibimbap to both Korean and international tourists.

Korean speech contests will be held in five countries (paraguay，Russia，Australia，
the Czech Republic，and Singapore) in celebration of Hangeul Day on Oct 9
The contests are expected to be an opportunity for Korean Studies students in these countries to show off the skills they have worked so hard to obtain and a chance to promote Korean language programs overseas. They will also be a good occasion for people in these countries to get in touch with a variety of aspects of Korean culture，including Korean food，K-Pop，and Korean movies
